Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1+ years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is seeking qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to support K-5 students across multiple schools within a K-12 public school setting located in Mobile, AL. The position is a full-time, contract role running through the current school year, requiring on-site presence and offering direct support to diverse student populations in elementary and middle school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to implement individualized speech and language therapy plans.
- Provide therapy and support services to students in grades K-5, addressing speech, language, and communication goals.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to monitor student progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
- Serve in multiple schools, including Holloway Elementary, Chastang-Fournier K-8, and Scarborough Middle, supporting an itinerant caseload.
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the State Board of Speech Examiners as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Alabama.
- Experience working with school-aged children in a speech therapy capacity preferred.
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload across multiple school sites.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork and family engagement.
